Suburban police were investigating an apparent murder-suicide in Norridge after two people were found dead inside a home following a well-being check. The incident unfolded about 6:43 p.m. Monday when Norridge police officers were called to a residence in the 4100 block of Ozanam Avenue for a well-being check. When officers arrived, they found a man and a woman dead at the location. Based on a preliminary investigation, officials believe the man killed the woman before taking his own life. The woman was identified Tuesday by the Cook County medical examiner s office as Ashley Rivera, 41, of Norridge. The man s identity was not released. The incident appeared to be isolated, and there was no threat to the public, police said. The case remains under investigation. The Norridge Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones affected by this tragic incident, police said in a statement.
