District 65 releases another boundary proposal, shrinking Foster back to current area — Evanston Schools news

Evanston/Skokie School District 65 released the third version of proposed attendance boundaries for the 2027-28 school year Friday afternoon, making a handful of changes from the previous version that most notably sets Foster Elementary School back to the attendance area it currently uses. The new boundaries were shared in an email to the community sent at 4:45 p.m. Friday, which also included an announcement that the board s vote on a proposed budget plan and school closure process would be delayed from Monday to Nov. 16. Interim Superintendent Eric Witherspoon wrote that the new boundary proposal reflects additional community feedback and continued review by our team. We must consider how boundaries will serve students, families, and our schools both now and in the years ahead, Witherspoon wrote. Our priorities include limiting changes for students and families, particularly those who have already experienced school closures or boundary changes, minimizing travel distances
