Suburban hospital limits who's allowed in emergency room due to rise in respiratory illnesses

A driver crashed through a fence and into an empty suburban pool on Wednesday after mistaking the gas pedal for the break, police said. Schaumburg police said their officers responded around 9:40 a.m. to a report of a crash at Meineke Park and Pool, located at 220 E. Weathersfield Way. Police said the driver mistook the gas pedal for the break and crashed into the pool that had already been emptied for the cooler seasons. Photos shared with NBC Chicago show a gray SUV inside the empty pool with visible front-end damage. No one was injured, but the vehicle had to be lifted out of the pool with a crane, police said.
